Maternity Shoot with Amelia Rose
Mid-January, at 31 weeks pregnant, I had the opportunity to shoot with the amazingly talented Amelia of Amelia Rose Photography. A stunning woman and former Houston Texans cheerleader, I’d say my favorite thing about shooting with her is how incredible she makes you feel about yourself. My first experience across her lens came in the form of a boudoir shoot that is still the most empowering gift I’ve ever given myself (and my husband). I knew there was no photographer around whom I’d feel more comfortable in my body, at any size or shape.
What started as a plan to shoot outdoors at a nature preserve morphed into a studio session at the East Downtown Studio HTX. Rented by the hour, this place is located less than a mile from our home and sits above a local, very popular coffeehouse in our neighborhood. Besides being a fabulous location for a shoot, it’s also a piece of the home we’ve created here in Houston. I love that we could incorporate our “hood” into this event.
This post is a collection of my favorite photos from our maternity shoot to kick off a new series under the Lifestyle section of this blog, simply titled Family. A place to document some of the special happenings with our new special someone, once he arrives.
